Photo of me at Nadab Lookout, Kakadu National Park
About
I moved to Darwin in 2017 and shortly after fell in love with photography. Mostly due to the amazingly diverse wildlife and scenery around the Top End. I knew very little about photography and my point and shoot camera never left auto mode. As time passed I began experimenting and the more I experimented the more my passion for taking photos grew.
After some time, I upgraded my point and shoot camera to full frame and a wide angle lens, that I put to use taking photos of sunsets and storms. As I progressed I invested in longer lenses in order to begin my wildlife photography journey. It was immediately apparent that photography was a very expensive hobby.
I spent many a weekend at places like Fogg Dam, which is a haven for wildlife of all sorts. However, I had an itch to explore further afield and would eventually buy a four wheel drive to explore some of the incredible national parks around Darwin. Places such as Mary River national park and the lesser known Djukbinj national park were my new hunting grounds for wildlife and sunsets. Being an introvert who shy’s away from crowds I felt alive in these parks where sometimes I wouldn’t even see another soul. A smoky dry season sunset in the middle of nowhere, with the sound of black cockatoos flying over can’t be beat. These are some of my best memories of Darwin.
As of December last year I moved to Queensland to stay with my parents as my mother was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer. She shared my love of nature and I definitely get my interest of the avian world from her.
I am now living in Cairns and excited to explore the beautiful nature this part of the country has to offer.
I would like to thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy my photos.
